Main Bead Embroidery Kit Morning garden

“Morning garden” is a bed of irises in full bloom in the morning light. The colours look as though the flowers had just been washed by dew: fresh, but never harsh.

What the picture shows

The canvas is horizontal and the flowers are lined up along it in a continuous band. Crimson and violet irises with dark velvety falls bloom on the left, a large peach-and-white one holds the centre, and pale cream and blue-white ones stand on the right. The petals are graded through shifts of colour and keep their characteristic wavy shape, with a yellow beard visible on each. Tall pink and lilac foxglove spires rise behind them and give the composition height. Everything is underpinned by long sword-shaped leaves in emerald and grey-green, with small white daisies and yellow centres scattered between them. The blue-lilac watercolour background stays as print on the canvas, so the beaded irises look dense and fresh against its blurred surface.
