“Fire in sky blue - 2” continues the same subject, only now there are several trees, and their burning crowns merge into one solid cloud above the water.

What the picture shows

The canvas is vertical and wider than the first one, and the crown takes up almost the whole upper third: orange, red, amber and yellow beads lie in a dense mass with a darker base showing through here and there. Four or five slim ivory trunks fan out below to hold it up. All the remaining space is blue: sky and lake are worked in horizontal bands of ultramarine, turquoise and steel, broken by short white dashes. Under the trees sits an island of green grass flecked with small red and yellow dots. The lower part belongs to the reflection: orange, white and pale blue glints break up in the water, and the trunks repeat as light vertical stripes. The beads cover the entire surface, so the texture stays even and mosaic-like.
