Main Bead Embroidery Kit Hovering

“Hovering” shows two hummingbirds among stylised flowers. The composition reads as if the birds had stopped in mid-air for a fraction of a second while the garden around them had already turned into pattern.

What the picture shows

The canvas is vertical and both birds fly towards each other along a diagonal. The lower hummingbird is green and turquoise, its long thin beak stretched towards a flower; the upper one is warm, in orange and pink, with long spread tail feathers. The wings are made of rows of small beads in mixed colours, so they look blurred with motion. Fantasy blossoms are scattered around: a pink flower with pointed petals on the left, star and teardrop motifs, curling shoots, tiny berries. The palette gathers turquoise, green, coral, orange and violet. The beading is spread across the whole field as separate patches, and the light background between them stays as print, keeping all that colour in balance.
