Main Bead Embroidery Kit Crystal winter

“Crystal winter” is a winter thicket at first light: the hoarfrost on the branches still holds the pink of sunrise, and a strip of unfrozen water winds between the snowy banks.

What the picture shows

The main accent is the wide tree on the right — its branches curve across almost the whole canvas and are covered in frost crystals worked in white, pale blue and silvery lilac beads. On the left stands a young undergrowth, and below runs a dark stream that reflects an orange patch of sun, the only warm note among the cold tones. The sky is painted in soft ochre and honey transitions and stays as print on the canvas: beads go onto the branches, the snowdrifts and the banks, so the stitched areas sparkle while the painted background keeps its airy depth. The palette is restrained — ten shades in all, from near black to icy white. The beads sit on each twig separately, so the tree has a texture you can feel, while the snowy bank below is stitched with gaps that give the scene its depth.
