Main Bead Embroidery Kit Neoromantic
Description
“Neoromantic” shows a couple under one umbrella in heavy snowfall: they stand by a stone parapet, and the snow falls so thickly that the city behind them has almost disappeared.
What the picture shows
He wears a pale jacket and holds her by the shoulders; she leans into him in a warm rust-coloured jumper and a long blue skirt, an orange bag across her shoulder. The large clear umbrella is stitched in white, lilac and grey-blue beads, so it genuinely reads as wet film. On the left there are steps with a handrail, below lie big stones and a snowdrift, and on the right a blurred patch of warm light suggests a lantern. The range is cold — graphite, blue, ashy white — and against it the rust jumper and the bag are the only warm accents. The snow is carried by small light beads scattered across the whole canvas. Their faces are barely visible, hidden behind the umbrella and the curtain of snow.
