Main Bead Embroidery Kit Rainbow giraffe

“Rainbow giraffe” is a portrait of a giraffe painted in every colour of the spectrum: the head is turned towards the viewer and the long neck rises the full height of the canvas.

What the picture shows

The animal's markings have become multicoloured strokes — turquoise, crimson, orange, lemon and violet — while the muzzle shifts from pink into lilac. Behind the neck runs a vertical band of saturated blue with green and violet streaks that makes the figure stand out even more. A thin twig with small leaves reaches towards the giraffe's lips. Along the left side and the bottom corner runs a decorative golden border of circles and curls, like carved ornament. The background is warm and creamy yellow, and it stays as print on the canvas; the beads cover the animal, the blue band and the ornament, so the figure lifts clearly above the matte field. The animal's gaze is calm, with long lashes and a warm brown eye, so the portrait comes out almost human.
