Main Bead Embroidery Kit Magic feathers

“Magic feathers” is a narrow vertical abstract in which a fan of fantasy feathers grows out of the bottom of the picture. The range is hot and high-contrast: blue and turquoise lines on a red-crimson ground.

What the picture shows

The composition opens from the bottom upwards like a fountain: long curved shafts spread out in a fan, and curls and spirals unfurl at their tips. Each feather is built from thin parallel stripes — light blue, turquoise, deep blue, orange and yellow — and some of them hold a dark eye with a bright centre, like a peacock feather. The background is deep, running from crimson and burgundy below to violet above, with small dots and arcs showing through it. In the lower part of the picture the pattern becomes densest, with the curls overlapping one another. The beads cover the feathers themselves, the spirals and the outlines, while the background stays as print on the canvas, so the pattern reads like lace laid over it.
