Main Bead Embroidery Kit Family

“Family” shows a stork nest on top of a pole, two adult birds with their chicks between them, and village roofs already spreading out below. It is a picture about coming home, warm and instantly familiar to anyone who grew up near a village.

What the picture shows

The nest, built of thick dry branches, takes up the lower third of the picture. One stork stands in it with a red beak and a black-and-white wing, and beside it two chicks stretch upwards with open beaks. From above, a second bird comes in to land with its broad black-and-white wings spread wide, red legs reaching down and white feathers lit by the evening sun. The sky behind is warm: pink, peach and blue clouds over a distant horizon. At the bottom right you can see tiled roofs, white walls and the dark green of orchards. The beads cover the birds themselves, the nest, the house roofs and the bands of cloud; the far fields and part of the sky stay as print on the canvas, so the storks stand out clearly against the background.
