Main Bead Embroidery Kit Blossom

“Blossom” shows flowering branches against a deep blue sky with a pale moon behind them. Small white, pink and lilac blooms cover the dark winding boughs, and the meeting of night and spring blossom gives the piece a quiet, faintly mysterious feel.

What the picture shows

The composition is horizontal and diagonal: the branches enter from the top right corner and spread to the left, balanced by the empty blue field of the sky. The colours are sapphire blue and turquoise in the sky, warm brown in the bark, white, soft pink and lilac in the flowers. Beads cover the blossom clusters, the branches and several pale patches of moonlight; the single flowers scattered around them stay as print on the artist canvas, which keeps air in the composition. The moon behind the branches is shown as a soft pale disc that does not compete with the blossom for attention.
