Main Bead Embroidery Kit Bay

“Bay” is a sunny seaside view: a brick terrace runs along houses buried in flowers and drops down towards the water. A yacht and a motorboat lie in the bay, with a pier and a white town visible on the far shore. The mood is summery, unhurried and full of holiday.

What the picture shows

The colour is built on the contrast between deep blue-turquoise water and warm terracotta paving. The house walls are lilac with white window frames, and red, crimson and pink flowers burn along the whole terrace in pots and beds. Beads cover the flowers, the walls, the wrought-iron parapet, the paving and the water with its small waves, while the sky with its high clouds and the distant town stay as print on the artist canvas, which keeps the horizon light and airy. The steps and the wrought-iron parapet lead the eye from the foreground to the pier and on to the horizon.
