Main Bead Embroidery Kit Starlight night
Description
“Starlight night” is a beaded version of Vincent van Gogh's best-known night landscape. The sky is wound into great spirals, a yellow moon hangs over the hills, and a small town sleeps below with the sharp spire of its church. A dark cypress reaches up along the left edge.
What the picture shows
The whole work is built on blue, from an almost black ultramarine to pale sky tones in the eddies and waves. Stars and moon are laid in warm yellow and orange beads that flare sharply against the cool ground. Here the beads follow the direction of the brushstroke, which is exactly why the spirals really do turn and the cypress reads as a tongue of dark flame shot through with green and burgundy. The houses below are small, with a few lit yellow windows; part of the hills and the lower edge stay as print on the artist canvas. Small white stars are scattered between the larger lights and hold the shared rhythm of the whole sky.
