Main bead embroidery kits Big City lights
Description
“Big City lights” shows London at night after rain: Big Ben, the Houses of Parliament, red buses and a roadway with street lamps reflected in it. The subject is festive and cinematic.
What the picture shows
The clock tower rises on the right, lit in warm gold; the dial is beaded in white and is the brightest point in the whole piece. To the left stretches the long facade of Parliament with its lacy spires, and behind it further towers emerge from the blue haze. Two red double-decker buses and a dark car move along the street, while a red telephone box and a lamp on a wrought-iron post stand by the pavement. The lit windows are beaded in yellow and gold and burn along the whole facade. The wet road below is beaded in blue, violet and yellow — it is the reflections that read as rain. Dark tree crowns edge the street on both sides, and a blue-violet clouded sky opens above. Beads cover the buildings, the lights, the traffic and the roadway, while the sky and the distant silhouettes stay as print on the canvas.
