Main Bead Embroidery Kit Golden Adel
Description
“Golden Adel” is a beaded version of the famous golden portrait in the spirit of Viennese Art Nouveau. It is the largest piece in this batch by bead count.
What the picture shows
A dark-haired woman with a pale face stands almost frontally, hands folded in front of her; a wide collar of small white beads circles her neck. Everything else on the canvas belongs to ornament: the dress is a mosaic of squares, triangles and almond-shaped eyes in burgundy, terracotta, gold and black, and a gold ground of grids, spirals and rosettes unfolds behind her. A quiet olive-gold area is deliberately left on the left so the eye has somewhere to rest. Beadwork covers the ornaments, the dress, the background and the jewellery, while the face and hands stay as print on the canvas — the skin stays matte and the gold around it shines. The ornament of the dress never repeats: triangles, small spirals, tiny squares and eye motifs alternate with no clear system, and that is exactly why the piece takes so many beads.
