Main Bead Embroidery Kit Vintage – 2

“Vintage – 2” is a heraldic ornament of gold and white scrolls on a terracotta ground, continuing the same decorative series.

What the picture shows

The pattern is mirror-symmetrical about a vertical axis. At the centre stands an elongated figure like a heraldic lily with a teardrop at the top, caught in the middle by a striped band of doubled bead lines. Broad gold acanthus scrolls with white outlines spread out from the centre in every direction, each ending in a rounded eye with a pearl inside. A double frame runs around the perimeter: gold outside, white inside. The background is a warm terracotta brown with the weave of the fabric visible. Only the ornament and the frame are beaded; the background stays as print, so the pattern looks raised and slightly lifted off the surface. Each scroll carries a double outline, gold outside and white inside. The pearls set into the eyes are placed symmetrically and set the rhythm of the whole field, and the upper and lower halves of the ornament mirror one another.
