Main Bead Embroidery Kit Riding

“Riding” shows two budgerigars and a model of an antique steam engine against a golden background. It reads like a small domestic story invented around a toy on a shelf.

What the picture shows

The yellow budgie has settled straight onto the bronze boiler of the locomotive, while the second one, yellow and blue with a long pointed tail, sits on the wooden table top in front of it. The engine itself is dark with a bronze sheen, a tall funnel and bright red spoked wheels. Red cherries on a sprig lie by the wheels on the left. The background is warm golden ochre with a faint antique pattern, and the table top is dark wood with pronounced grain. Beadwork covers the birds, the locomotive, the cherries and the wooden surface, while the golden background mostly stays as print, so the silhouette of the engine separates from it clearly. The locomotive is shown side on with all its small parts — valves, handrails and buffers — picked out in dark and bronze beads. The tail of the lower budgie crosses the table top diagonally and leads the eye out of the frame.
