Description

“Sagittarius” shows a centaur with a drawn bow inside a warm golden circle. It is the most dynamic scene in the series.

What the picture shows

The archer is shown in profile: the human torso turns back, the hands hold a large golden bow with an arrow, and a red cloak streams behind, beaded in rows of cherry and garnet. The horse body is brown with ochre planes, mane and tail roll into spirals, and the legs are caught mid-stride. A medallion with the Sagittarius glyph hangs on the right of the circle, with small red-and-white rosettes scattered around. The background is printed on the canvas: a warm amber-gold surface with pale veining. Figure, bow, cloak, rosettes and the double ring are beaded, so the centaur's silhouette stands out against the even warm ground.
