Main Bead Embroidery Kit Tree of life

“Tree of life” is a decorative panel after Viennese art nouveau: a golden tree whose branches curl into tight spirals across the whole field. An ornamental piece with no narrative, built on rhythm and texture.

What the picture shows

The trunk grows from below and divides into dozens of curls, large and small, that fill the entire ivory ground. The spirals are worked in gold, bronze and copper beads, so in the finished piece they give one continuous warm shine and read in strong relief. Decorative details are scattered among the branches: black-and-white rectangles with geometric patterning, round flower rosettes, small triangular birds. Towards the bottom greenery and dark leaves appear, and the base of the tree turns into a band of meadow with tiny multicoloured flowers on a dark ground. The upper part of the background stays as print and works as a calm pale field against which the gold looks especially dense.

The piece is narrow and tall, so it suits the wall between two windows, a hallway or a spot beside a staircase. Gallery finishing is possible — the canvas stretches over a bar and hangs with no frame or mount.
