Main Bead Embroidery Kit February frost
Description
“February frost” shows two red cardinals on a snow-covered spruce branch, with a white church and its steeple standing behind them in the blue-grey dusk. Snow falls in large flakes, and the whole scene looks like a frame from a winter card.
What the picture shows
The birds are stitched in the brightest beads in the piece: a saturated red body, a black mask around the beak, a sharp crest. One sits high on the left, the other lower and almost in the centre. The spruce branches are loaded with snow and red berries that pick up the colour of the plumage. Behind them lie a snowy field, a road, single trees and a small church with lit windows and a tall steeple. The sky is a cold lilac grey. The snowflakes are worked as separate white beads straight onto the background, so they stand noticeably above the surface. The sky itself, the field and the distant trees stay as print on the canvas, which pushes the beaded birds and needles forward.
