“Holy Trinity” shows three angels at a meal under a spreading oak, painted in a soft, picture-like manner rather than in a strict icon style. The scene is bright and quiet: no sharp movement, only three figures in calm conversation.

What the picture shows

The angels sit in a half circle around a table laid with a white cloth. The one on the left wears deep red, the one in the middle blue with ochre, and the one on the right a warm apricot orange. Each has large white wings, a thin gold halo and a long staff. Behind them stand the oak canopy and an arched stone structure with a small town visible through the opening on the left, while a gentle landscape of fields, hills and open sky opens up on the right. Beads cover the wings, the robes, the tablecloth, the greenery and the stonework; the faces, the hands and the distant landscape stay as print on the canvas, which keeps the features fine instead of building them from beads.
