Main Bead Embroidery Kit Seven horses
Description
“Seven horses” shows a herd charging into a shallow mountain river. Seven horses come almost straight at the viewer, a solid wall of spray rises from under their hooves, and a wide waterfall drops between the rocks behind them. It is a picture about movement and cold autumn air.
What the picture shows
The horses run as one tight group: a bay with a pale mane and a white horse with chestnut patches lead, with sorrel, dark chestnut and almost black animals beside them. Both banks are covered in autumn woodland — crimson maples, ochre foliage and the dark green of firs and spruces rising all the way to the top edge. Lower down the water calms and reflects a warm orange light, while wet boulders darken the foreground. Beads cover the horses, the leaves, the grasses and the stones by the water, while the spray, the mist around the waterfall and the surface of the river stay as print on the artist canvas. That contrast between matte paint and glinting beadwork is what makes the water read as cold and transparent.
