Main Bead Embroidery Kit Wild poppies – 2

“Wild poppies – 2” is the second subject in the wild poppy series: a large bright red poppy in the centre, a crimson one with curled petals beside it, and a whole cluster of daisies above.

What the picture shows

The central poppy is wide open, its petals falling in waves from red to deep burgundy around a black centre with fine stamens. On the left a bloom in deep crimson-pink sits on a thick stem next to a green bud. The upper third belongs to the daisies — white and lilac, with yellow and orange centres, overlapping each other densely. Cut leaves and grass fill the bottom. Beads cover the flowers, the buds and the foliage, while the blue sky behind stays as print on the canvas. The petals of the crimson flower curl inward, as if it had only just opened. The daisy stems are long and thin, crossing each other into a light lacework above the poppies. Another unopened bud on a curved stem shows to the right of the central flower. The grass below is given in fine strokes of green and yellowish tones.
