Main Bead Embroidery Kit Angel's Trumpet

“Angel's Trumpet” is a large floral study of brugmansia: long trumpet-shaped blooms hang down among broad leaves. The mood is light and slightly tropical, with almost watercolour light in the background.

What the picture shows

The flowers fall into three colour groups: orange-red on the left and right, creamy blue in the centre, and pink-crimson along the edges. Each trumpet opens into pointed petals that curl outward. The leaves are large and clearly veined, stitched from pale green through to deep emerald. The background shifts from blue at the top to yellowish and pink below and stays as print on the canvas. Beads cover the blooms and the foliage densely, so the piece comes out strongly textured while the background works as soft light behind it. The blooms hang from short stalks, turned almost straight down, and each group catches the light differently. Toward the top the foliage thickens and nearly closes, leaving the background only narrow gaps between the leaf blades. One orange bloom on the left is shown almost in profile, with a long narrow tube.
