Main Bead Embroidery Kit The province

“The province” is a panorama of an old town street with a large mansion in mint and pale blue. A horse-drawn cart moves along the cobblestones, a lady with a parasol walks slowly by, and a gilded church dome gleams in the distance.

What the picture shows

A grand house with white mouldings, columns and tall windows fills the left of the frame, fenced by a white balustrade with boxes of lilac flowers. A brick arcade of the retaining wall runs below it. On the right the street descends past smaller houses and trees toward the church with its gilded dome. The palette is cool — grey-blue, white and mint, with warm touches in the paving. Beads cover the facades, the trees, the flowers, the dome and the figures, while the paved road with its reflections stays as print on the canvas. A driver walks beside the cart, and a few more passers-by and a dog show further on. A shrub with pink flowers fills the right edge of the frame, and the trees along the street are given as dense rounded crowns. A row of planters stands along the balustrade, and a lone figure in light clothes waits by the steps.
