Main Bead Embroidery Kit House by the sea

“House by the sea” shows a lighthouse and a tidy house on a rocky headland with waves breaking below. The sky is pale and late in the day, and the whole view carries the calm of a seaside evening.

What the picture shows

A stone lighthouse with a black lantern tower stands in the centre, next to a house with amber walls, a white porch and many windows lit from inside. The slope around it is planted with pink, lilac, white and blue flowers, and a tree with reddish blossom spreads above the roof. Below, the water shifts between emerald and turquoise, and foam breaks over dark boulders. Beads cover the lighthouse, the house, the flowers, the rocks and the wave crests, while the clouded sky in pearl and lilac tones stays as print on the canvas. To the right of the house stand another wing with a porch and a path running down to the rocks. The left side stays open: a far horizon, light clouds and calmer water that turns to breakers as it nears the shore. A low fence runs along the path to the house, almost buried in flowers.
