Description

“Toys – 2” shows two plush bears sitting side by side, with a blue book and a green elf doll beside them.

What the picture shows

The larger bear is brown, with thick fur and a dark red polka-dot bow, and he stretches one paw out to the side. The smaller one is pale yellow with a blue bow, sits on the right and looks straight at the viewer. A blue book leans on the left with a green doll in a pointed cap in front of it. The toys sit on a red band with a small pattern, the background is pale and blurred like old plaster with ochre and blue strokes, and a wide striped white-and-blue border runs along the edge. Beads cover the bears, the bows, the book, the doll and the border, while the wall stays as print on the artist canvas — so the fur reads as soft against the smooth background. The bows and the doll's costume are worked in the brightest colours and act as small accents against the warm fur. The bears' paws are lighter than their backs, with clearly drawn pads.
