Main Bead Embroidery Kit The Four Elements – Fire
Description
“The Four Elements – Fire” is a portrait of a woman in a lavish headdress made of red and orange bead strands that fan out like tongues of flame.
What the picture shows
The face is turned three-quarters and the gaze goes straight to the viewer; the shoulder is bare and the skin is painted in a warm honey gold. The headdress fills most of the square: it opens from the forehead into a wide fan above and falls below in long strands where red, garnet, terracotta and gold alternate. The background is fiery — deep orange at the top shading to pale amber near the shoulder, with soft flames blurred in the corners — and the image itself is edged with a thin double frame. The palette is extremely tight: only eight bead colours, all of them warm. It is the headdress that is beaded — the long strands lie densely and partly loose, so the work turns out strongly textured; the face, the shoulder and the background stay as print on the canvas.
