Main Bead Embroidery Kit Loft – 2

“Loft – 2” shows a French window with green louvred shutters, a wrought-iron balcony and a grey tabby cat on the sill. A quiet southern street in the middle of the day.

What the picture shows

The view is taken straight on: a wall of sand-beige brick with the window in the centre, its green shutters thrown fully open on metal hooks. Behind a white lace curtain you can see squares of blue tile, and on the sill sits a grey tabby cat looking right at you. On the left a ball-shaped topiary grows in a terracotta pot, a window box of pink flowers runs beneath the glass, and all of it rests on a white iron railing of tight scrolls. Beads cover the shutter slats, the brickwork, the lace of the curtain, the cat, the crown of the little tree, the flowers and the openwork railing — practically the whole surface is stitched densely, which is where the large bead count comes from.
