Main Bead Embroidery Kit Provence – 1

“Provence – 1” is a still life with roses, cut glass and a bird’s nest on a plum-coloured table. The pink and pearl palette and the antique trinkets set the mood of a quiet morning in a country house.

What the picture shows

The objects are lined up in a single row along a table draped in heavy plum fabric with a shaped golden edge. On the left is a bouquet of full pink roses in a low silver vase, next to it a crystal sweet jar with a tall faceted lid and ivy inside. In the centre stands a matte pink vase holding a pale peach magnolia; on the right a pink glass cloche and a small cup, with a nest of speckled eggs on a string of pearls in front of them. The background is light, with pale pink baroque scrollwork. Beads cover the roses, the facets of the crystal, the glass dome, the nest, the pearls and the golden scalloped edge of the cloth; the wall and the tabletop stay as print, which is why the sparkle of the glass reads so clearly.
