Main Bead Embroidery Kit Mulled Wine

“Mulled Wine” shows a woman in a hat standing with her back to us at an open window, holding a glass of something hot. Beyond the window lies a warm evening city with a bridge over the water.

What the picture shows

The figure is set to the right and seen from behind: a wide violet-grey hat with a red flower, a dark coat or wrap with a large scrolled pattern, a bare shoulder, and a hand holding a stemmed glass. Heavy red curtains frame the window on both sides, and between them you see a white balustrade, an arched stone bridge and buildings with turrets on the far bank. Everything outside is flooded with golden light, and the water returns it in long shining bands. The palette is warm: amber, terracotta and muted violet. Beadwork covers the hat, the wrap, the curtains, the balustrade and the bridge, while the sky, the water and the distant roofs stay as print on the canvas.
