Description

“Tango” shows a couple on a terrace a moment before a kiss, against a large orange sun setting into the sea. The lean and movement of the figures really do recall a dance step.

What the picture shows

Two open wrought-iron gates with scrollwork and lanterns frame the composition, their light a cool blue. At the centre he wears a white shirt with braces and dark trousers, she a long midnight-blue dress in shining fabric with a flower in her hair; he supports her as she leans back. Behind them a laid table holds glasses and a planter. The sky moves from lilac to crimson, and the sun rests on the horizon as a wide warm disc.
