Main Bead Embroidery Kit Gangster

“Gangster” is a portrait of a young man in a straw hat and round glasses, holding a pistol close to his chest. The background is assembled from old maps, gears and brickwork, so the scene sounds more like an adventure story than a crime one.

What the picture shows

The figure occupies the central vertical band. He wears a dark jacket, a light waistcoat and a shirt with a finely patterned tie; a handkerchief shows in his pocket and a watch hangs on a chain. His face is calm, the glasses tinted dark. Above the hat a mechanism unfolds: large copper and terracotta gears of different sizes, like the inside of a clock. On either side, behind dark columns, you can see fragments of an antique map with a compass rose. The palette is warm — brick red, ochre, brown — with cool grey inserts. Beadwork covers the hat, the suit, the weapon and the gears, while the maps and the brick wall stay as print on the canvas.
