Main Bead Embroidery Kit Breeze

“Breeze” is a sunlit promenade on an Italian lake: a café under a red-and-white awning, tables set out on the paving, and a wide stretch of blue water dotted with boats.

What the picture shows

A yellow house runs down the left side of the street with green shutters, wrought-iron balconies and window boxes full of pink and red flowers. Round tables with white cloths and woven chairs stand under the striped awning, with a large planter of blooms beside them. The paved walkway leads into the frame towards a stone balustrade wound with roses and orange blossom. Beyond it the lake opens up: dense cobalt and turquoise beads carry the water and its small white launches, the shoreline is covered in dark cypress green, and on the far bank a town with a bell tower and a yacht at its mooring come into view. Mountains and a high sky with soft clouds close the top. Beadwork goes onto the flowers, the greenery, the façades, the water and the roof tiles, while the paving and the sky stay largely as print on the artist canvas, which keeps the picture from feeling overloaded.
