“Wedding Icon – The Lord God Almighty” shows Christ enthroned, the second half of the wedding pair, kept in the same gold-and-red range as the icon of the Mother of God.

What the picture shows

Christ is seated frontally: the right hand raised in blessing, an open book with text held in the left. The tunic is cherry red, the himation blue with deep folds that carry the main colour accent. The halo is worked in honey-gold beads with an inscribed cross of three letters, and blue eight-pointed stars and monograms sit on either side of the head. The throne is rendered in fine gold and cream beads, which gives it an embossed look. The same wide ornamental border as on the companion icon runs around all four sides: rosettes, diamonds and wave motifs in red, gold and blue. The face, the hands and the text on the pages stay as print on the artist canvas — beadwork goes onto the robes, the halo, the throne and the border, and that is what holds the light.
