Main Bead Embroidery Kit Budapest
Description
“Budapest” is a city view with St Stephen's Basilica closing the end of a street. The eye runs straight down the perspective: two rows of coloured facades converge on the green dome and its cross rising above the roofs.
What the picture shows
Buildings stretch away on both sides in yellow, ochre, peach, pale blue and light green, with ranks of windows, balconies and moulding along the cornices. Black wrought-iron lamps and small round-crowned trees line the pavements, and red flowers show in a ground-floor window on the left. The paving is light with pale reflections, as though after rain. The sky is high and full of white clouds. Beads cover the dome of the basilica, its columns and pediment, the house facades, the lamps, the trees and parts of the paving, while the sky, the clouds and the far end of the street stay as print on the artist canvas, so the depth of the view is not lost under the stitching.
