Main Bead Embroidery Kit Marcela

“Marcela” is a tall vertical portrait of a young woman with a bunch of flowers. She stands by an old wall with her head bent, and the whole scene is held in muted olive and grey tones, out of which only the red roses break free.

What the picture shows

She wears a white blouse slipped off one shoulder with a wide lace neckline, and a dark skirt densely strewn with large red roses and green leaves. A blue-grey kerchief covers her head, and a big red flower sits in her hair at the side. In her hands is a bouquet of pink, lilac, orange and yellow blooms tied with pale cloth. The background is worn plaster with blurred vertical streaks. Beads cover the bouquet, the roses on the skirt, the lace of the collar, the flower in her hair and separate details of the blouse, while the face, the hands, the kerchief and the wall stay as print on the artist canvas, so the portrait keeps its painterly softness and the stitching adds relief.
