Main Bead Embroidery Kit Chocolate

“Chocolate” is a small dessert still life: a striped cup on a saucer, a chocolate cake with a strawberry, and a coffee-coloured swirl of biscuit beside it. The drawing is deliberately simplified and almost toy-like, put together from even bands of colour.

What the picture shows

The cup is ruled with horizontal stripes of pink, lilac, green and cream, the handle thin and round, the saucer below it yellow with a blue rim. At the lower left stands a round cake with dark glaze, green drops along the edge and a red berry on top; to the right lies a black and yellow spiral of biscuit. The ground is a pale creamy yellow, and a wide border of multicoloured vertical stripes — red, green, blue, pink and yellow — runs around the whole picture. Almost the entire image is beaded: the cup, the saucer, the desserts and the striped border, while the pale field of the ground stays as print on the artist canvas.
