Main Bead Embroidery Kit Dolche

“Dolche” is an intimate still life about music at home: an open sheet of music, piano keys, and a heavy bunch of tea-orange roses laid straight onto the instrument. The wide horizontal format makes the scene look like a frame shot from above.

What the picture shows

A white page of music with black notes and clefs fills the upper left, and beneath it the white and black keys run diagonally away. On the right are open roses in a rich amber shade with russet and golden turns at the heart, next to dark green leaves and one more bud just starting to unfold. A turquoise band along the bottom adds a cool note against all that warmth. Beads cover the flowers, the leaves, the keys, the notes and the turquoise detail, while the pale paper, the dark wood on the right and the soft shadows behind stay as print on the canvas. That is what makes the roses look rounded and keeps the stave reading as a fine line drawing.
