Main Bead Embroidery Kit Fresco

“Fresco” is a still life with a violin resting on crumpled emerald silk among scattered pink roses, with a painted Italian town and a canal bridge behind it. The mood is quiet and warm, like the memory of an evening serenade on the embankment.

What the picture shows

The violin is worked in honey and walnut tones, the neck and pegs darker, almost black, with a pale highlight sliding across the body. Open pink roses and fallen petals sit on either side of it and lead the eye diagonally across the canvas. The background is built from broad patches of colour: deep red and terracotta on the left, dark green on the right, and above them ochre facades, arched bridges and a strip of blue sky over the water. The beadwork covers the violin, the flowers, the petals and the green silk drapery, while the townscape and the blurred colour fields stay as print on the artist canvas — which is why the stitched parts step forward and hold all the light.
