Main Bead Embroidery Kit Dragon

“Dragon” is a fairy-tale scene: a blue-violet dragon sits on a rock among snowy mountains, holding a branch of pink cherry blossom in its paws. A large golden sun hangs above it in a pale sky.

What the picture shows

The dragon is worked in saturated blue and violet beads: the scales along its back are smaller and darker, the wings are large and membraned with lit edges, and the long tail curls around the rock below. Its muzzle is turned towards the flowers, so the whole pose reads as curious rather than fierce. The branch is brown, with two open cherry blossoms and a single bud — the pink petals are the only warm accent against the cold setting. The sun is stitched in golden beads laid in a spiral from the centre, which makes it look like a hammered disc. The mountains, the sky and the bright patches on the slopes stay as painted print on the artist canvas: beadwork covers the dragon, the flowers and the sun, and those are what step forward.
