“Baby imprints (boy)” is the companion piece to the design for a girl: a small hand and foot pressed into a large red heart, this time on a lilac background with a soft floral pattern.

What the picture shows

The heart moves from saturated red at the edges to a warmer, brick-like tone in the middle, so its shape reads clearly even from a distance. The imprints of the hand and foot are stitched in cream and flesh-toned beads with pale flecks that convey the texture of a baby's skin; the small creases show on the heel and every finger reads on the palm. The background is pale lilac with a faintly drawn foliate pattern showing through the overall tone, and a violet beaded border runs around the perimeter. Seven bead colours work within two calm ranges — red and flesh tone — so the piece stays restrained despite the bright heart at its centre.
