Main Bead Embroidery Kit Domino
Description
“Domino” is a graphic still life: a white-and-blue porcelain cup with a gold handle and a bright red maple leaf lying on a black-and-white chequered cloth. The name comes from that chessboard pattern, which folds and tumbles away down the picture.
What the picture shows
The cloth is worked in black, white and grey-blue beads; the squares bend along the folds of the fabric and break where it hangs over the edge of the table, so the surface reads as three-dimensional rather than flat. The cup and saucer are translucent blue with white highlights, a fine gold rim and a matching handle; a small green sprig rests on the saucer. The maple leaf is stitched from crimson through brick to orange, with pale veins clearly drawn — the one warm accent in an otherwise cool scheme. The background behind is dark, almost black, so both the leaf and the china stand distinctly forward.
