Main Bead Embroidery Kit Sonata

“Sonata” is a quiet still life about a small celebration at home: a generous bouquet of garden flowers in a woven basket, an antique metal coffee pot with a chain, an open book of music and a thin porcelain teacup. Everything stands on a wide lace doily, while the background glows in warm amber and cherry tones, as if lit by a table lamp.

What the picture shows

The bouquet gathers burgundy dahlias, white and pink asters, small blue cornflowers and cream daisies — these are the beaded parts, and they carry all the light of the composition. The lace doily is stitched as an openwork pattern: the beads sit further apart there, so the warm surface of the table shows through the weave. The coffee pot, the book and the background stay as print on the artist canvas — beadwork covers only the flowers, the lace and the cup, and against the matte base they clearly stand forward. The colour scheme runs on contrast: cool metal and white lace against a warm red-ochre ground.
