Main Bead Embroidery Kit Raspberry

“Raspberry” is a summer still life: a white porcelain basket with a curved handle full of ripe raspberries, a few berries lying beside it on the table, and green leaves bending over the top.

What the picture shows

The background is dark, a deep green-blue, and the berries glow against it. The raspberries are worked in red and deep pink beads — each berry is built from several beads, so the surface comes out grainy, close to the real thing. The leaves take several greens, the porcelain white and pale blue with a small floral motif painted on the side of the basket. The border deserves a mention of its own: the wide red band of geometric ornament in the folk-embroidery manner is beaded as well and frames the whole subject, which is why a piece this size still takes 7,673 beads. There are only twelve colours, so the chart stays easy to read. The berries spill over the rim of the basket, and a few of them lie loose on the table.
