Main Bead Embroidery Kit Fish – 3

“Fish – 3” is a narrow vertical panel of the underwater world: two large angelfish swim one above the other, a small violet fish hangs between them, and seaweed rises from below.

What the picture shows

The tall format shapes the composition: the eye travels up from the green weeds and the rusty fish at the bottom toward the sunlit ripples on the surface. The turquoise water with its wavy highlights stays as print on the canvas, so the beadwork never fights its transparency. Beads cover the fish, the weeds and the small air bubbles scattered up the whole height. Twenty-one colours go mostly into the scales: green, yellow, red, violet and pink shift within a single fish. There are just over four thousand beads and the difficulty is easy — the areas are large and the pattern is simple to follow. The fish are placed one behind the other on a diagonal, so the narrow panel never looks empty despite the light background.
