Main Bead Embroidery Kit Country evenings

“Country evenings” is a quiet winter evening in a village: snow-covered cottages with dark roofs, a bell tower rising behind them, and a small tit with a yellow breast on a bare branch to the left.

What the picture shows

The whole scene is held in blue, from light, almost white snow to the deep blue of the sky. Beadwork covers the snow on the roofs, the drifts, the caps of snow on the fir trees and the flakes in the air — glossy beads work here like sparks of light in the frost. The wooden fence, the path and the tree trunks add warm browns, the firs are dark green, and the little bird is the single bright note in a cold palette. The sky, the distance and the frozen river stay as print on the artist canvas. With only twelve colours and fewer than three thousand beads, this kit also works as a first project. The bell tower with its slim spire is the highest point of the scene and balances the bare tree on the left.
