What the picture shows

Two identical pots stand side by side against a pale blue ground, both covered in large white daisies with yellow centres. A smiling baby looks out of the left one, wearing a cap of orange petals like a sunflower; a second child looks out of the right one in a pale hat with a green sprout. A row of white daisies runs across the top of the canvas, with a few more in the lower corners. The composition is symmetrical and built on only three colours: blue, white and yellow. Beads cover the pots, all the daisies, the caps and part of the background, while the babies' faces stay as print on the canvas. The daisies are stitched petal by petal, so they look raised against the even background.
