“Rabbits – 3” shows a ginger lop-eared bunny sitting in a blue boot with a smiling face drawn on it. The image is photographic, almost a small genre scene.

What the picture shows

The rabbit is pale ginger with long drooping ears and dark eyes; it rests its paws on the rim of the boot and looks off to the side. The boot is light blue with a white band at the top and a simple face: two oval eyes and a smile. Large turquoise flowers with yellow centres sit in the top left and bottom right corners and act as a frame for the scene. The background is blurred green and yellow, with a hint of window light. Beads cover the boot, the flowers and part of the background, while the rabbit itself stays as print on the canvas — its fur is rendered more finely than beadwork could manage. The kit has only five colours, and nearly all of them go to the blue part of the frame.
