Main Bead Embroidery kit Chantal

“Chantal” is a narrow vertical panel in art nouveau style: a fair-haired girl in profile holds a branch of small flowers, and behind her a mosaic circle glows in blue and lilac.

What the picture shows

The elongated format turns the composition into a decorative panel: an ornamental frieze with blue inlays at the top, an arch with the mosaic circle in the middle, and a quiet ochre band at the bottom. Beads cover the mosaic of the circle with its small floral rosettes, the frieze above, the ornament on the ochre ground, the flowers and pins in her hair, the earring, and also the narrow embroidery along the edge of the dress and the leafy sprig in her hand. The face, the hands and the long white dress with its folds stay as print on the canvas, so the beading frames the figure without overloading it. The colouring is restrained: warm ochre, blue, and lilac-to-gold transitions.
